Tennis - Former Wimbledon Champion Richard Krajicek says he would like to join the likes of Stefan Edberg, Ivan Lendl, Boris Becker, Michael Chang and Goran Ivanisevic as a coach to a top player on the men's side but insists that he would be ready for a full-time commitment only after a few years when his kids head off to college.
Krajicek was in Abu Dhabi for the announcement of a new legends event next season and told the Gulf News that he would like to take up a full-time coaching role once his 16-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son are no longer living at home with him.
Krajicek was also supportive of the idea of male players hiring female coaches, though he is always haunted by his remark on the women players in 1992, when he called them lazy and fat and said they did not deserve the prize money they earned. Commenting on Andy Murray's hiring of Amelie Mauresmo, the Dutchman said it was a good choice for the Brit, with Murray's form beginning to return and that the Brit should be ready to win a Grand Slam next year.
Krajicek will play in the 'Tennis at the Palace' exhibition in March next year along with other retired legends such as Pat Cash and Younes Al Aynaoui.
