Newport County are exploring the possibility of using 'dome-style' pitch covers before next week's match against AFC Wimbledon.
Having not played a home game since January 4, County are currently approaching suppliers of the specialist covers to get some home games in.
A statement on their website says: 'A request was made to AFC Wimbledon to 'switch' the fixtures between the two clubs with Newport County AFC offering to travel to Kingsmeadow next Tuesday and the return match being played at Rodney Parade over Easter.
'However, despite AFC Wimbledon expressing sympathy at our plight, the decision was to leave the games on their current dates and venues.'
