Danny Mayor's injury-time goal secured Bury victory at AFC Wimbledon to extend their unbeaten run to five games.

Dons striker Danny Hylton had a chance to open the scoring in the first minute, but his header was well saved by Bury goalkeeper Brian Jensen.

Hylton wasted another opening by failing to beat Jensen when sent clear, while Bury sub Jean-Louis Akpa-Akpro hit the bar after lobbing Ross Worner.

Mayor pounced at the death as the Shakers eased their relegation fears.

Bury moved up to 20th in the table, seven points clear of the drop zone, while the home side's defeat was their fourth in a row.

AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley told BBC London 94.9:

'I'm devastated, and feel the same way as the fans do.

'I know it's a results-based industry so I cant take any consolation from us being the better team for large parts of the game.

'It becomes not unlucky that you lose games and it's individuals, not tactics, which has cost us again, stupid errors.

'Confidence is low and we have to find a way of winning a game and scoring a goal.'
