Drug scandal knocks on McEnroe family's door once again. Few weeks after Kevin McEnroe - son of John - was caught and arrested for purchasing drugs in New York City's East Village there is another monkey hanging on the former World No.1's back.
This time is John himself to face trouble. Chrissie Hynde, rock singer and leader of the band The Pretenders, revealed how she used to smoke Marijuana with the tennis champion when meeting him at the Championships of Wimbledon, in London, right when the tournament was on and going.
According to the New York Daily News, the singer revealed:
'John used the call me all the time when he was at Wimbledon, because he knew I had pot at home and he would come and visit me to hang out'.
As surprising as this quote appears, it follows John's previous admittance of having taken drugs with ex wife Tatum O'Neal in the past. What's new is that apparently John could have competed while being 'high' during the tournament. Hard to believe it, if you think of how McEnroe has always been knows for his bad temper.
