Soviet Military: enjoyed a hurdle workout at Wimbledon
MELODYS GAMBLE, a finalist in last year's Con & Annie Kirby Memorial Puppy Stake final at Limerick and now with Paul Young, was quickest over the 273m trip at Wednesday's Wimbledon trial session, clocking 16.16sec (going normal).
That time was two spots quicker than posted by Leamaneigh Turbo. Last summer's Boylesports.com Race Of Champions finalist is now trained by Liz McNair, who also gave workouts to recent Monmore Puppy Derby absentee Farley Chicken (16.28sec) and 2013 Arc hero Shaneboy Alley (16.42sec).
Rick Holloway's 2013 Champion Hurdle hero Soviet Military, who runs in a top grade jumps race at the track on Saturday, clocked 29.38sec (+10) for the 480m hurdle course.
