A four-set victory by Novak Djokovic over Grigor Dimitrov would typically conjure a fairly easy win for the top player in the world.
Friday's win, however, was anything but that.
Djokovic dispatched of Dimitrov 6-4, 3-6, 7-6, 7-6, but the No. 1 seed really needed to work for it.
'He deserves respect. It was a tough match. The fourth set could have gone either way,' Djokovic told ESPN following the match. 'I started well and like the last match against Cilic, I allowed my opponent to come back into the match. Overall I'm just really glad to get to another Wimbledon final.'
The men traded the first two sets, then Djokovic was able to win a third-set tiebreaker. The fourth set was nip-and-tuck, and it too would go to a tiebreak.
Dimitrov seemed in control early, winning a 19-shot rally to take a 3-1 lead. He then had three set points, but Djokovic fought back to tie it at 6-all. With the tension mounting, Dimitrov double-faulted, giving Djokovic match point. It was wasted, but Djokovic eventually finished out the match -- with a little help from the net -- and moved into his third career Wimbledon final.
He will face the winner of Friday's match between Roger Federer and Milos Raonic.
