Trains cancelled at Wimbledon Station due to fatality

Police cars outside Wimbledon Station following a fatality on a track this morning.


Police are in attendance at Wimbledon Station because of a person on a track.



British Transport Police have evacuated passengers from platform six following the incident earlier this morning.


South West Trains tweeted: '#Wimbledon - A person has been hit by a train - all lines are not available for train use through this station at the current time.'


TfL said District Line trains have resumed a good service following earlier delays between Earls Court and Wimbledon.


Commuters are reporting no trains at all running from the station.


But Alice Foster, who was on her way to work by train shortly after 9am said her train was allowed through the station and two policemen on platform 6 and a large number of people leaving the platform.


Commuter Jenny Evans tweeted: 'Avoid Wimbledon station this morning - no trains or tubes running due to fatality on the line.'
