After seven years away, former world No. 1 Martina Hingis will return to play at Wimbledon. Hingis was granted a wild card by the All England Club Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.
The Swiss champion will play with Russia's Vera Zvonareva, herself a former Wimbledon doubles champ.
Hingis, 33, has twice retired from the game before returning to the court. Following her second retirement in 2007, Hingis and Sabine Lisicki won a doubles title last year in Miami. Her last appearance at Wimbledon came in 2007, when she lost in the third round.
A five-time singles major champion, Hingis has won nine Grand Slam doubles titles, including twice at Wimbledon.
The tournament begins June 23.
